Vintage

Originally appearing as an extension of the Encore range of guitars, the Vintage name became a fully fledged range of guitars and basses from 1997.

Instruments were initially created in Korea, with production moving to China and Vietnam from 2005 where Solid body electric guitars, bass models, semi acoustic, acoustic and folk style instruments formed the full Vintage instrument range.

Joining JHS distribution (the owners of the Vintage brand) as a consultant and developer, Trev Wilkinson began modifying instruments in the Vintage range, his knowledge in manufacturing techniques and processes being a major asset in making the instruments exceptional in all areas for the price point.

The addition of Wilkinson hardware and pickups to many of the range was another major factor in brand building, the Wilkinson name standing for incredible value for money in both sound and performance terms.

While the Vintage range was already known as a quality range of instruments, the addition of Wilkinson soon became apparent in magazine and online reviews, creating a demand that saw many products selling faster than dealers could get stock.

Unlike pretty much every other guitar brand in the same price bracket, Vintage established a range of signature instruments from professional musicians including, Thomas Blug, Geoff Whitehorn, Mick Abrahams, Graham Oliver, Tony Butler, Jerry Donahue, Midge Ure and John Verity.

2020 saw the 25th Anniversary of Vintage and the launch of the Vintage Pro shop where instruments went through processes found on boutique instruments with pro fret dressing and relic finishing.
