Schecter

The original custom guitar brand launched in 1976 and was based in Van Nuys California a district that is synonyms with boutique guitar builders.

Founded by David Schecter in his repair shop, Schecter manufactured replacement guitar bodies and necks, pickup assemblies, Bridges and many more components. By 1979 Schecter had started to supply fully constructed instruments that became renown for high quality and superb tone.

By 1983 Schecter had grown substantially and was sold to a Texan investment company that expanded the range of products available, one notable guitar being the Tele style Saturn guitar made famous by Who guitarist Pete Townshend.

In 1987 Schecter was sold to Japanese entrepreneur “Hisatake Shibuya”, who moved the company back to its roots in California where building was devoted to high end custom shop type instruments. The employment of Michael Ciravolo (Current President of Schecter) by Hisatake was a masterful move, and with Ciravolo in place Schecter expanded into a mainstream brand creating guitars in South Korea that would be shipped to the US base to be fully setup by professional guitar tech’s.

Today Schecter are a leading guitar and bass brand with artists from around the globe.

The Exotic range from Schecter features our WVS50IIK vibrato on the exquisite looking instruments.
