Wilkinson’s Hot Humbucker, alnico, R series Caliber 7484 WHHBa NC utilises all the knowledge we have garnered from producing pickups for over two decades.
Originally created as an artist request, the Caliber 7484 WHHBa NC is a high output humbucker that utilises Alnico V magnets to produce a tonally well balanced and full sounding humbucker that is full of harmonic content ideal for a multitude of musical styles from blues to rock and beyond. Nickel silver covers and backing plates are standard on the Caliber 7484 WHHBa NC as is 4 conductor wiring to allow for coil splitting for classic single coil tones and many other wiring options. Available in both neck, and bridge variations.
Trev Wilkinson’s induction into music was through the tones of what we now call iconic or legendary players, the sounds these artists produced inspired Trev’s playing and also his future in music.
While Hank Marvin’s use of vibrato peaked the young inventor’s interest in a device that would become such an integral part of the Wilkinson brand, the tone and sound created by Clapton, Beck, Green and other influential players was a massive influence as were the instruments and components that created these tones.
The R series of pickups is the result of years of listening to pickups, time spent with legendary inventors such as Seth Lover and Leo Fender discussing all aspects about sound, materials and production methods, add these ingredients to hours and hours of testing and tweaking and you have the R series, our finest pickups.
