Duplo 59 Saddle

Dual Intonation 60’s Style Vintage Saddle

Anniversary Duplo 59 Saddle

The original design for the T style guitar bridge from the 50’s era while cementing the tone for this classic instrument, unfortunately could not allow truly accurate intonation due to the three saddle design used.

While the design works fantastically for tone transfer, and is an inherent part of the vintage T style tone, the saddle is at a 90 degree angle to the intonation/mounting screw and cannot be angled to accommodate the offset needed to intonate different string gauges/thicknesses, thus when playing chords over the whole fingerboard the lack of offsets on the saddles made many chord voicings out of tune.

The Duplo Difference

As many will know, Trev Wilkinson designed a pre intonated saddle for the WTB T style bridge, this brought the saddles very close to perfect intonation, however with our ‘DUPLO’ saddles Wilkinson’s  innovation adds another element with it’s duel intonated saddles.

Seen in the image the A face of the saddle has a double stagger giving you over 1/8″ (3.5mm) equal to 16 degrees whilst flipping the saddle over to the B face gives you 1/16″ (1.75mm) equal to 8 degrees of stagger. Mix and match which saddles you flip and compensate for whatever string gauge you like.

Ideal for mixing string gauges or custom gauges of strings, whilst retaining the vintage vibe and spot on intonation!
